AUM Circle
Creating the world we want begins with our communal voice!
For thousands of years, Indian sages, mystics, and gurus have taught that before thought and form, there was silence. From silence came vibration. A-U-M (also “Ohm” or “Om”) is the primordial tone: the sound of arising, creation, sustaining, and returning. It is the seed-sound of creation which holds past, present, and future in a single resonance.
Today, as old structures fracture and the world grows more uncertain, there is real power in remembering we are made of vibration, and vibration can be intentionally shaped. The AUM Circle is a simple, held practice: we gather in community to chant, listen, and rest in the shared field of our communal sound. Through breath and voice we re-align with the intelligence that births form, we grieve what must pass, and we open to what wants to be born.
Why we do this?
When many voices chant together, a field is formed — attention focused, hearts steady, imagination clarified. That field is fertile ground for new cultural forms, new relationships, and new courage. We’re not promising answers, only a steady practice and the collective courage to shape a different world.
What to expect
• Introductions and basic teaching on AUM.
• Gentle grounding, breathwork, and a vocal warm-up to center the body.
• Guided chant practice with space for deep listening and silence.
• A short sharing circle for reflections and integration.
• A safe, consent-honoring container for people of any background or experience.
Practical info
Circle Contribution: $20 - $60 (supports facilitation, space, and community building)
Your presence is the most important contribution. Financial support sustains the work, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
What to bring: Cushion or chair (several are provided onsite), water, a journal for reflections, openness. Wear comfortable clothing. All bodies welcome.
Lineage acknowledgment
We honor the Indian lineages and teachers whose practice and devotion have preserved AUM as a living tradition. This circle is a contemporary, secular gathering inspired by that ancient wisdom; we offer gratitude and deep respect to the source traditions and the teachers, named and unnamed, who passed this practice down.
